After many rumors and speculation, the NFL has finally announced that Lady Gaga will serve as the headliner of the Super Bowl 51 halftime show.
The singer confirmed the news on Thursday evening when she tweeted that she would be apart of the annual championship game, set to take place at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas on Sunday, February 5, 2017.
The NFL also expressed its excitement, tweeting a video including joint clips of Gaga’s new video “Perfect Illusion” and various NFL players looking rather fired up.
With Gaga’s forthcoming album, Joanna, set to be released on October 21, it is likely that the singer will be performing singles from her upcoming album as well as hits from the past.
This will serve as Gaga’s second Super Bowl appearance granting that the “Perfect Illusion” singer opened last year’s Super Bowl 50 game with the National Anthem.
