The latest chapter in the never-ending Lil Wayne vs. Birdman saga now features a report indicating that Tyga was let go of his YMCMB contract without Lil Wayne’s consent.

According to TMZ, Birdman let Tyga out of his Young Money contract without consulting Wayne on the decision. As you might remember, in 2014 Tyga took to Twitter to blast the label he called home for almost six years, claiming that YMCMB had been “holding him hostage” by keeping him from releasing his junior album, The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty. The album was later released independently via Tyga’s own Last Kings imprint. Earlier this month, G.O.O.D. Music announced a deal with Tyga, adding him the Kanye West-led roster.

This new deal reportedly left Wayne “fuming,” as per sources to TMZ.

Young Money launched as a label in February 2003 and through the deal, Cash Money took 51% ownership of the label while Wayne received 49%. Seeing as how Birdman owns a larger stake, he technically didn’t have to talk it out with Wayne. However, based off of the principle and their long history, Wayne’s reported frustration isn’t unwarranted. This is one of the many reasons behind Weezy and Birdman’s public fallout.

The news comes on the heels of a separate story over the weekend, which claimed that Birdman took more than half of Young Money’s $100 million advance from Universal Music Group. According to the legal documents from the pending $51 million lawsuit filed against Cash Money Records in January 2015, Weezy does not believe Birdman used the amount taken for alleged “royalties, marketing, and recording expenses.” The report claims that Wayne wants to see how this money was used, since the Young Money deal was a venture between the two sides.
