UPDATE: Desiigner was charged with felony possession of a loaded firearm after an alleged “road rage” incident in New York on Thursday night (September 8), but that charge has reportedly been dropped. According to TMZ, no weapons were recovered from the vehicle, leading the D.A. to deem the evidence insubstantial. The “intent to sell” charge was also lifted. The rapper is set to be arraigned today in a New York City court.
Rapper Desiigner was reportedly charged with gun and drug charges in New York City on Thursday night (September 8) following an alleged “road rage” incident.
According to reports, the “Panda” rapper and four other individuals were pulled over by police after a dispute that reportedly took place in the Lincoln Tunnel. The 19-year-old rapper is accused of pointing a weapon to the driver of another vehicle as the two exchanged words.
As per TMZ, upon searching the SUV carrying Desiigner and the four individuals, authorities discovered Oxycontin and other drugs, as well as a loaded firearm. All five were arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of drugs with intent to sell.
Desiigner, real name Sidney Royel Selby III, was also reportedly charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon and third-degree menacing.
The rapper recently appeared on stage with Kanye West and G.O.O.D. Music on Wednesday for a pop-up show that featured the debut of his latest collaboration with new signee Tyga called “Gucci Snakes.”
