It looks as though Kanye West wasn’t driven off of adrenaline rush when he uttered the following words on stage of Drake’s OVO Fest last month, “Toronto, I got one question for you: Is y’all ready for this album?” As it turns out, the long-rumored collaborative album between the two titans is “coming up soon.”

The journey to Drake and Kanye West’s mysterious joint album

Talking to Vogue ahead of his Yeezy Season 4 debut later today (September 7), Kanye, who has long expressed his desire to team with Drake for a full-length album, confirmed that a collaboration is certainly underway. “We’re just working on music, working on a bunch of music together, just having fun going into the studio,” West told the publication after he was questioned about the mysterious billboard that popped up during VMA weekend.

“We’re working on an album, so there’s some exciting things coming up soon.”

The update is the latest hint of new music that typically arrives around the time of Kanye’s Yeezy Season line reveal. In 2015, his duel fashion shows were complimented with the reveal of “Wolves” and “Fade.” Earlier this year, he debuted The Life of Pablo for the Yeezy Season 3 show.

Elsewhere in the Vogue interview, Kanye also explained what he meant in the recent casting call for “multiracial” women only for his Yeezy Season 4 fashion show. “The ten thousand people that showed up didn’t have a problem with it,” he said. “How do you word the idea that you want all variations of black? How do you word that exactly?”

As for the high-tech nimbus cloud used on the floating stage concept that he’s incorporated into his Saint Pablo tour, Kanye described it as something he wanted to do in order to elevate the experience. “I wanted to come up with something that allowed me to be closer to the people,” he shared. “And made it so there wasn’t a bad seat in the house, as best as we could try to do that.”

In related Kanye news, his Saint Pablo tour merch spawned record sales and much fanfare.
