DMV-area rapper Chaz French is a ball of energy, a hard-hitting lyricist, and a survivor. Throughout his music, he tells the story of his struggle to make it, from dropping out of school to being homeless for a spell. It’s hard not to be inspired. “I’m going to make music for what I’ve been through, what I’ve seen, and give people a little bit of encouragement,” he tells REVOLT Sessions host DJ Damage.

Chaz French learns these things really do take time

Backed by a live band, French performs songs from his 2015 mixtape These Things Take Time, including “IDK” and “Remember.” “I want to make music that ultimately people can feel,” he says. “I don’t have to change the world; I just want to possibly affect somebody who can.”
