NEW YORK, NY — For the annual end of summer extravaganza, otherwise known as Fool’s Gold Day Off, a throng of partygoers jammed into Studio Square in Queens on Saturday (August 20) following a last minute venue change. As the drinks were poured and beach balls tossed, the day saw A Trak and Nick Catchdubs of Fool’s Gold host energetic performances from the likes of Leaf, Dave East, Meyhem Lauren and more. Special guests included MadeInTYO, who elicited a rowdy response with records like “I Want” and “Uber Everywhere,” Dyme-A-Duzin, Consequence, and Wiki (of Ratking).

By the end of the night, the main event commenced with headlining sets from Lil Yacthy, Juelz Santana and Migos. For Yachty, the excitement went near peak levels the moment he hit the stage. The rapper drew such a frantic reception that security rushed to assemble barricades between the crowd and the stage as his performance took place. Just to reiterate: Yachty had the crowd so turnt that security measures had to be taken during his set. How wild is that?

Migos Sound Off After Cops Shut Down Fool’s Gold Day Off Show

Right after the “Minnesota” sensation’s high-energy performance was Dipset’s own Juelz Santana. In his bag, the legendary Harlemite not only reminded the attendees of his hitmaking resume, performing classics like “Dipset Anthem” and “Murda Murda,” he also showcased the signature never-ending glow that has caused fans both frustration and excitement over the years. Between his stage presence and how he magnetized the crowd with classics like “S.A.N.T.A.N.A.,” “More Gangsta Music,” and “There It Go (The Whistle Song),” the guy still got the sauce. But considering how long its been since God Will’n, his 2013 comeback mixtape, and the announcement of his proper follow-up to What The Game’s Been Missing?, it’s tough not to get annoyed at how he’s managed the golden potential that was set before our eyes during the famous Diplomat era. But, we digress. All in all, Santana brought down the house. By the end of his set, one fan summarized what just about every Dipset fanatic has been chanting for years: “Juelz is the greatest.”

Once Migos hit the stage the party ensued, but not for long. As we reported, the trio’s set was cut short following sound issues and a good ol’ “F—k 12” shout. Still, regardless of the incident, Migos had the crowd turnt. Catch our recap of the event below.
