“Me, I’m just done with the hype.” —”Hype” (2016)

Over the last two weeks, Drake and Eminem have been mentioned in the same sentence following a little trolling by Hot 97’s own Ebro Darden. But last night (August 16), the pair successfully changed the narrative when the Summer Sixteen tour pulled into Detroit’s famous Joe Louis Arena.

Paying tribute to the hometown hero, Drake brought out Eminem during the show and reiterated a tweet he sent out years ago, crowning the city’s favorite son the “greatest rapper to ever get on the microphone.”

Together, the rap titans performed “Forever,” a record that has since defined the trajectory of their legacy.
