Earlier this month, we reviewed BANKS’ “Gemini Feed,” recognizing the song as the one that spawned the title to her upcoming album, The Altar. She sings defiantly (and mockingly) to an ex-lover:

“And to think you would get me to the altar/ like I’d follow you around like a dog that needs water/ But admit it, that you wanted me smaller/ if you woulda let me grow/ you coulda kept my love.”

Now, the dark-pop singer has released the visuals for the SOHN-produced track and though the song details a relationship, the only person BANKS is bound to in the clip is herself.

Directed by Philippa Price, who also helmed BANKS’ “Fuck With Myself” video, the visual is as dark as its predecessor. Hinting at her two sides, the singer dons all-white and all-black in alternating scenes, but is equally entangled by ropes in both. Elsewhere, she recalls a Black Swan ballerina, but her golden tongue, forked like a snake’s, reminds you she’s no princess.
