Since teasing a potential Roc Nation venture earlier this year, The Lox have been hard at work on a secret project.

Now about this project. Considering that it’s been 16 years since their last official album, and three since their surprise EP The Trinity, it’s no secret that the trio of Jadakiss, Styles P and Sheek Louch are working on a proper follow-up to We Are the Streets. So just like the 2000 album, expect nothing but the greats to get involved on the production side of things. Within the past couple of weeks, Styles P took to Instagram to share who the trio has been working with on the upcoming release and s o far they’ve been spotted in the lab with Just Blaze, DJ Premier and Timbaland.

As longtime Lox fans will know, the last time the Yonkers trio collaborated with DJ Premier, it was on 2000’s “Recognize.” Timbaland produced the We Are the Streets hit “Ryde or Die Bitch.” As far as Just Blaze goes, the hitmaker recently produced the Jadakiss and Styles P “Synergy” collab off of last year’s Top 5 Dead or Alive. Prior to that, Just worked his magic on the Kiss Tha Game Goodbye standout, “It’s Time I See You.”

With these names involved on the Streets follow-up, which was previously expected to be called We Are the Streets 2, expect nothing less than a soundtrack that is as “hard as the sh-t that’s under your feet” (Word to Styles). The new Lox project will be their first release since 2014’s The Trinity: 3rd Sermon.

No release date has been announced for the LP, but The Lox have already released two singles within the past week, including the Rick Ross featured “Feel My Pain.” Check it out below.
