DJ Snake Feat. Justin Bieber, “Let Me Love You”

It seems like Justin Bieber is vying for Song of the Summer, but his only competition is himself because as if he didn’t just appear as a guest on Major Lazer‘s “Cold Water,” he’s back now on DJ Snake’s “Let Me Love You.” It kicks off with those euphoric electro chord strikes we know so well before a blunt thump backs Bieber who, in a casually smooth delivery, echoes himself on his verses: “I used to believe we were burning on the edge of something beautiful, something beautiful/ Selling a dream, smoke and mirrors keep us waiting on a miracle, on a miracle.” Double-time handclaps add a tribal element to the already dance-ready trop-pop and if this doesn’t sound like DJ Snake yet, wait for that wiggly bazooka-like synth that populated his “Middle” hit.—Danielle Cheesman

Tove Lo, “Cool Girl”

Tove Lo is back, doing what she does best—making cool dance music that isn’t obnoxious or anthemic. This one holds steady in the pocket; the tempo doesn’t change and she doesn’t try to hit any fancy notes. It’s just a three-minute strong bop, and you’ll be singing the hook in no time.—Driadonna Roland

Topaz Jones, “Motion Sickness”

Emerging talent Topaz Jones has released his third single, “Motion Sickness,” off of his sophomore project Arcade. His vocals in the first half of the song have a vibrating, echoey tone that recall Prince’s own on “Purple Rain.” (Now, I’m just explaining the sound, not comparing the two because Prince is a legend.) Jones is clearly making a path for himself considering he’s landed on the same stage as Jeremih, Ty Dolla $ign and even Future. And if his current sound has me thinking about “Purple Rain,” well, that’s a winner right there.—Erin Ashley Simon
