Covering Whitney Houston is no easy task, but when you’re Ariana Grande you’ve certainly got a better shot at succeeding at it than the rest of us. And Grande proved that assumption to be true on last night’s finale of the ABC variety show Greatest Hits.

Giving nod to both Houston’s “How Will I Know” look, in crimped hair adorned with a big bow, and her classic “Queen of the Night” outfit, by rocking all-black save for some armor-silver boots, Grande sang both hits pitch perfectly. And was likely the reason the episode jumped 50 percent in its viewership.
