The name is set and a date has been locked. Travis Scott’s new album, Birds In the Trap Sing McKnight, will arrive as soon as August 5th — yes, next week.
Taking to the Ford Amphitheater at Coney Island Boardwalk in Brooklyn, New York last night (July 26), where he performed alongside Metro Boomin, La Flame announced the long awaited release date for the new LP and also teased a brand new song.
Already prepped with the single “Pick Up the Phone,” which features Young Thug and Quavo, Scott’s new album is expected to sound like a leap from Rodeo. In an interview with Billboard a few months ago, the Houston wunderkind explained the concept behind the brilliantly titled project, calling it a piece that is “basically about all my friends and growing up here [in Missouri City]. I’m not saying that it’s a trap, we not in the fucking projects but it’s like a social trap.”
“It’s a social connection trap from what you want to do and how you want to express yourself. I feel like everyone just gets constricted by their parents or just, life.”
Look out for Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight on August 5, which, fun fact, falls just one month shy of Rodeo‘s one-year anniversary.
