When Michelle Obama made her speech at the Democratic National Convention earlier this week, there was one line she recited that, depending on which side of the coin you were on, either inspired you or infuriated you.

In an effort to pinpoint the progress that the country’s made, the progress that enabled her to even become the first black First Lady, Michelle said this:

“That is the story of this country, the story that has brought me to this stage tonight, the story of generations of people who felt the lash of bondage, the shame of servitude, the sting of segregation, but who kept on striving and hoping and doing what needed to be done so that today I wake up every morning in a house that was built by slaves.”

Naturally, Twitter was offended, but Kelly Clarkson helped shut that down.

But then Bill O’Reilly reared his ugly head to offer an always-offensive opinion that nobody asked for.

Yesterday, when discussing that part of Obama’s speech, the Fox News host made the counter-argument that “slaves that worked there were well-fed and had decent lodgings.”

So Questlove has emerged to put him in his place and in an Instagram post written today (July 27), the Roots drummer reads the “journalist” for filth without ever even mentioning his name. Read an excerpt below:

“I’d like to think most of you have common sense. But there is nothing more dangerous than a man in a suit pretending to be a journalist giving revisionist history on the ugliness that was slavery. What’s so fun and lighthearted about being shackled? being separated from your loved ones? Being molested and raped HOURLY, being branded with hot iron? being property? being castrated? being flogged? being malnourished?…. I dunno if that man’s (never say his name) point is to troll at any cost whatsoever but his entire existence is a 5 steps backwards for any progress made in humanity.”
