Rihanna’s acting career has left much to be desired. And that’s not because she’s not talented; we wouldn’t know because the roles have been so limiting: she said “boom” in Battleship, played herself in This Is The End, had a lead role in Home but as the voice of an animated character, and briefly starred in a movie-within-a-movie in Annie.

But now, it seems the substantial roles are stacking up. She was recently chosen by acclaimed director Luc Besson to appear in his upcoming sci-fi film, and now our Bad Gal has nabbed another major role.

Cast in A&E’s Psycho prequel series “Bates Motel,” Rihanna will revive the role of Marion Crane, the victim in the famous shower scene from Alfred Hitchcock’s original horror thriller.

The announcement was made Friday at San Diego Comic-Con, where producers also confirmed season five would be the drama’s last. The panel shared a video from the star who revealed the news the only way she knows how, of course: “Let me tell you what a bad bitch is about to do…”

“Bates Hotel” showrunners said they took notice when Rihanna told Vanity Fair that she was a fan of the series. Executive producers Carlton Cuse and Kerry Ehrin said, “We wanted to thrust the iconic role into a contemporary spotlight and redefine it in a meaningful and exciting new way. We also heard Rihanna was a fan of the show, and we were huge fans of hers, so it was the perfect collision of creativity and fate.”
