Ty Dolla $ign & Pusha T to headline free #SchoolsNotPrisons tour
Celebrity social activism worth applauding.
While the nation has suffered and is still coping with a string of unfortunate tragedies, the silver lining could be that they’ve inspired celebrities to use their platform for the greater good.
Recently, The Game and Snoop led peaceful protests in Los Angeles, Lebron James and Dwyane Wade called for action at the ESPYs, Beyoncé donated $82,000 to the Flint Water Crisis, and now Ty Dolla $ign and Pusha T are headlining a series of free concerts in an effort to raise awareness of the costs of incarceration, according to Billboard.
Named the #SchoolsNotPrisons tour, organizers hope the 10-date California tour encourages young people to change the system through peaceful activism and political engagement.
Gallant, Krewella, John Forte and others will also appear on the tour.
