Danny Brown teases major return, announces new LP and 40-date tour

  /  07.18.2016

As made clear on “When It Rain,” Danny Brown is back, and after three years since the release of Old, we finally have a title to pin on the Detroit rapper’s fourth LP.

Taking to Twitter, Brown announced his next album will be titled Atrocity EXhibition, a nod to English band Joy Division and their 1980 track of the same name, which itself is also reference to a book by English author J. G. Ballard. Brown confirmed the connection after a fan put two and two together and went on to post lyrics from the original Joy Division record.

No official release date has been set to Atrocity EXhibition, but when the LP arrives it will mark Brown’s first release under new label Warp Records. Last month, the rapper announced his jump from Fools Gold Records (where he released XXX andOld) to British independent label Warp.

In addition to album, the “When It Rain” rapper also announced a 40-date tour, called The Exhibition Tour. Kicking off September 14 in Philadelphia and running through November 15 in Cleveland, the 40-date North American tour will make stops in Chicago, Los Angeles, Houston and more. Joining Brown will be Maxo Kream and Zeelooperz.

Tickets will be available beginning Wednesday (July 20) at Danny Brown’s official website. For full dates and venues, see below.
