Troy Ave is a free man for now after the rapper secured a half-a-million dollar bond thanks to his mother and her Brooklyn him.

The New York rapper was released on Monday (July 11) after spending weeks behind bars following the Irving Plaza shooting in May. Troy Ave was arrested the day after the incident, which took place during a Tip concert, and later charged with attempted murder and weapons possession. As a part of his release, the local artist must wear an ankle tracker and must avoid bars and performance, in addition to remaining in New York only.

According to the New York Daily News, Troy Ave was released to the custody of his family and his mother, whose home was put up as collateral, got into it with aggressive reporters, who attempted to travel in the elevator with the group’s party.

Troy Ave is expected back in court later this summer as police continue to investigate the shooting, which left one man, Ronald McPhatter, dead and others injured.
