As of now, a mention of the phrase Run the Jewels recalls the super-duo comprised of rapper Killer Mike and producer El-P, but in a few years (or even months considering how fast Kevin Hart works), it may mean something entirely different.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hart has just signed on to produce a movie of the same name. And according to El-P’s Twitter account, he’s not having it.

Once the news was released, El-P wrote, “excuse me while I go starve a savage pack of lawyers for 7 days.”

And when Jason Demarco, SVP and Creative Director of Adult Swim On-Air, piped in to show his support (“If you’re going to make a movie and you decide to call it ‘Run The Jewels’ why would you not at least CALL THE BAND?”), El-P added, “prolly lost [our] number. its cool we’ll be calling them.”

But when Demarco added, “hopefully this all ends with everybody happy,” El-P shut the idea of a compromise down, saying, “ill be happy with just me being happy in this case.”
