It’s been five long years since Bon Iver dropped their sophomore album. Since then, we’ve heard frontman Justin Vernon on a trifecta of tracks from Kanye West’s Yeezus and, more recently, on James Blake’s The Colour of Anything LP, but now the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter is ready to return to the scene with his band’s new material.
Vernon tweeted yesterday that Bon Iver’s set at the upcoming Eaux Claires Music and Arts Festival—which he himself organizes and co-curates alongside the National’s Aaron Dessner in Vernon’s homestate of Wisconsin—will feature new music.
Less than an hour later though, he sent a new tweet with an edit, confirming that the performance wouldn’t just include new material, but would be entirely comprised of it.
Congrats to the lucky fans and festival-goers who get first dibs on hearing it all.
The festival takes place August 12-13 in Eau Claire, WI.
