Just days ago, Vic Mensa dropped his emotional There’s A Lot Going On EP and now in support of the hazy vice-filled effort, he delivers a visual for the title-track.

The video finds the Chicago rapper delivering rhymes as images from his past, both haunting and inspiring, flashing behind him on the center shot clip. The rapper tells the winding story of his career and personal life, sharing details of relationship fights, drug abuse, writer’s block, signing with Jay Z’s Roc Nation and recording with Kanye West. Co-directed by Mensa and Jake Osmun, the video hits a climax when bullets fire into an outline around his body

“I was inspired to make the song by my time down on the ground floor on the street, when we were revolting against that shit,” Mensa said of the track in a press statement.

The seven-track set There’s A Lot Going On, is available for free through July 4th to whose who pledge to vote via Respect My Vote, a non-partisan voter registration platform.
