Vic Mensa has been making a lot of noise since his last release and now he can include a set of tunes to go with his life’s soundtrack.
The Chicago rapper dropped There’s a Lot Going On last night (June 2), a seven-song EP that’s a collection of angst, homage and the promising artist finding his voice.
The project kicks off with “Dynasty,” a straight-forward nod to his record home, Roc Nation.
Mensa follows up the intro, “16 Shots,” which he premiered at the #JusticeForFlint in February of this year.
There’s still lifestyle raps on the project, but the collection seems to paint its intentions with the EP cover, which features Mensa with his arms behind him and a target imposed over his body.
