Watch ScHoolboy Q & Kanye West Get Trippy In "THat Part" Video
The Collin Tilley-directed clip is fit for a funhouse.
As if ScHoolboy Q’s “THat Part” didn’t already feel hazy enough, look no further than it’s just-dropped visuals to feel an uptick in its trippiniess.
Directed by Collin Tilley and THe Little Homies, a spinning camera follows Q (still decked in a headpiece, but an upgrade from his signature bucket hat) from a warehouse with a masked crew to a school bus (get it?) flanked by females.
But it’s when featured guest Kanye West hits the screen that the clip begins to play off the track’s trap-inspired hypnotism. Capitalizing off that beat appropriately fit for a haunted funhouse, the camera follows ‘Ye with an a unbroken, long-running tracking shot as he answers the door, stares down a stripper, takes a running leap down a hall, tosses take-out food against a wall, pretends to have sex, and dances through the home—all before he kicks us out again.
And we’ll take his lack of hospitality with open arms because he at least seems like he’s having fun.
Q’s still-untitled sophomore album is due July 8.
P.S. If you call the number that appears at the end of the video, you’ll reach a voice mailbox that says: “Hello, Billy, it’s Top Dawg. Leave a message, I might call you back.” Why can’t anybody get Top Dawg on the phone?!
