The Commissioner revealed the details during a Hot 97 interview.
With buzz still in the air following the spectacle of his new single “Drugs Dealers Anonymous,” featuring Jay Z, Pusha T and his pen game once again returns to the news spotlight today (June 2), this time courtesy of Steve Stoute.
While discussing his latest venture with The Stashed, while joined by founder and editor-in-chief Kaz, on Hot 97’s Ebro in the Morning, Stoute spoke on origins of his marketing and advertising company Translation and dropped the following nugget: Pusha T penned the famous McDonald’s “I’m Lovin’ It” jingle. “Our first big thing was launching ‘I’m Lovin’ It’ for McDonald’s, that was in 2004,” he shared. “You know who did that? Pusha T. That’s crazy that Pusha T wrote the song for McDonald’s.”
Stoute didn’t go into further details about the payout that was involved with the big move, but insisted “Nobody was mad.” Prior this big reveal, the general assumption was that Pharrell and Justin Timberlake, who released a single of the same title in 2003, were responsible for the famous jingle. But now that Stoute has made it clear, it all makes sense. Take a listen below.
