J. Cole Goes Behind The Boards With A New Beat On His Tour Bus

The NC rapper takes it back to his early production days.

Aside from promoting his Dreamville imprint, we haven’t heard any too much new music from J. Cole since the release of his 2014 Forest Hills drive album. Now, Cole uploads a clip of him making a beat while riding his tour bus from the HBO special, Road To Homecoming. Finding the groove of the beat while plunking away at his keyboard, he comes out with a smooth production that would perfectly suit his flow.

A few minutes into the video, Cole heads to the back of the bus and yells out, “can somebody go and grab Ron for me?” Ron Gilmore, Dreamville’s producer, enters the studio to master a more intricate piano melody, which turns into an instrumental spot on sensational sound.

Listen to J. Cole on the keys and pads below.
