Joey Bada$$ Says NYPD Is Canceling His Concert At Irving Plaza

Is this what’s next in the aftermath of the Troy Ave shooting?

  /  06.01.2016

Joey Bada$$ took to Twitter today (June 1) to alert his fans that the NYPD cancelled a performance he was scheduled to perform at tomorrow at Irving Plaza, the Manhattan venue where Troy Ave fired a gun into the crowd last week.

The Pro Era star quickly deleted the tweet, but then he followed up with a message that still claimed his show was cancelled, however, he backed away from the NYPD messaging.

REVOLT called police and they did not comment on the matter. A spokesperson for Irving Plaza said to call back tomorrow for more information. The event was billed as a Governors Ball pre-festival performance that was sponsored by MTV.

An inquiry made by REVOLT to Joey Bada$$’s camp has not been answered as of press time.

Last week, at a T.I. concert, before the ATL MC took the stage, gunfire erupted, driving the audience from the venue. Surveillance footage released later indicated that Troy Ave fired a weapon and he was charged with attempted murder. NYPD Police Chief William Bratton told media hip-hop’s gangster culture was a reason behind the incident.
