It’s no secret that Questlove is a die-hard Prince fan. He penned a heartfelt essay on the lost legend for Rolling Stone, engineered a tribute performance at this month’s Billboard Music Awards, and has now taken to Instagram to honor the icon once more.

Inspired by The Source’s latest issue, which features Prince on its cover, the Roots drummer first admitted that he “chuckled” at the choice, before realizing “yeah it made sense,” and then launching into a list that proves why Prince was, indeed, a #HipHopPioneer.
