NEW YORK, NY—Gunshots erupted at a Tip show in Manhattan Wednesday night (May 25), where the rapper was scheduled to appear at Irving Plaza.

Before the rapper was able to take the stage, between DJ’s swapping out equipment, shots rang out in the V.I.P. section on the second floor and drove the capacity audience to fearfully scatter, with some fleeing and others ducking under tables or couches for cover. Video from inside and outside the venue quickly hit social media, showing the crowd scattering after the shots rang out.

NYPD combed outside the Union Square venue for bullet shells and questioned the crowd for videos sources while they cordoned off the area in the aftermath.
