Nowadays, being an artist is more than simply releasing a few one-off tracks here and there. With today’s budgets, even a short conceptual film to accompany your artistry and take as a visionary, represents the sort of ambition that is the province of your Kanyes and Björks.

Featuring a score from jazz composer Kamasi Washington last year, Spalding stars and arranges new original songs in the short film titled Gaze. Directed by Allie Avital, who helmed music videos by Chairlift and Hundred Waters, and produced by Yours Truly, the film is an artistic take on a cry for new love.
