Azealia Banks Twitter Account Has Been Suspended After 'Racist Rant'

The saga continues…
Azealia Banks has landed herself in a social media standoff yet again, as her account has been suspended by Twitter. Earlier this week, Banks caught herself at the center of a Twitter firestorm when she fired off racial slurs and insults at former One Direction member Zayn Malik. Initially she passive aggressively accused him of copying her “Chasing Time” visual for his new video “Like I Would,” but kept it friendly by ending her comment with “cutie pie.” Zayn then responded, and from there the series of derogatory tweets from the Harlem rapper was a downward slope of Banks versus the entire internet.
In the midst of her tirade, Banks was subsequently removed from a headline at London’s Born & Bred Festival, with organizers saying they “celebrate inclusivity and equality” and would not tolerate Banks language. Now it looks like Banks account has been suspended by Twitter following her lewd comments.
This is not the first time Banks had a contentious history using Twitter. In March, she said she was quitting Twitter altogether, but quickly returned after a brief absence. In April, former Alaska governor Sarah Palin threatened to sue Banks after she posted a series of very graphic tweets about Palin. And how could we forget her countless Twitter beefs with just about every artist at any given moment.
Regardless, Banks account has deactivated and it doesn’t look like too many users are upset about the matter, considering the trending hashtag #AzealiaGotSuspendedParty is picking up steam rapidly. But don’t let her silence fool you, it’s just a matter of time before Banks is back with a bag full of tweet-ammunition.
Update: And there you have it…
