Since Prince’s death, artists have been paying tribute to the icon with their own live renditions of his signature song, “Purple Rain”: Aretha Franklin at the White House for the 2016 All-Star Global Concert, Jennifer Hudson in New York after a performance of The Color Purple on Broadway, Bruce Springsteen in Brooklyn during a concert, even Beyonce herself in Miami on the first stop of her Formation Tour.

But, last night in Dallas, Texas, she switched it up and performed a cover of the legend’s “The Beautiful Ones.” And she absolutely triumphed.

Yes, she’s done this before during her headlining set of 2011’s Glastonbury Festival, but this time, with Lemonade still fresh in all of our minds, the lyrics took on a whole new meaning. Kneeling on the ground, Bey never rose, not while asking “Is it her or is it me?” Not while pleading, “Don’t my kisses please you right?” And not while demanding an answer to, “Do you want me like I want you?”

Prepare for goosebumps, wig-snatching, and slaying.
