M.I.A. is never one to play her cards all at once. After a slow drip-feed of new tracks over the past months, from “Temple” (a collab with Baauer and G-Dragon) to H&M’s recyclable campaign cover “Rewear It,” “Borders” and most recently “MIA OLA” and “Foreign Friend.”

Well, now it appears there’s a new M.I.A. album on the way. Or maybe..

Announcing via Twitter that she will deliver her “American label” her “last LP” Matahdatah this week. The British-Sri Lankan artist falls short of excitement, by saying it won’t be up to her whether the record gets released, since she will not be able to promote it in the U.S. owing to her lack of visa.

Opting not to name-check the label, M.I.A.’s “Borders” single was released last November through Interscope Records.
