Drake dropped his fourth studio album Views, and the excitement has been felt all around. Last night (April 29), he celebrated the release with a free halftime performance at Toronto’s Maple Leaf Square, which is located outside the Air Canada Centre. The arena is home to the Toronto Raptors, who squared off against the Indiana Pacers in the midwest. Although the Raptors suffered a crushing loss in the said game, Drizzy kept optimism in the air with the free show that drew thousands of fans.

Performing IYRTITL‘s “Energy,” Drake reiterated the message conveyed on his latest album: “I love everybody in this city. I love this city. I’ll die for this city. This the greatest place in the world with the greatest people in the world.”

In addition to the impromptu performance, later Drake performed at his album launch party and claimed that Views, in its first night of release, sold over 600,000 copies. RIAA and Billboard has yet to confirm the numbers, but the sales will also incorporate the streams of “Hotline Bling,” “Pop Style,”and “One Dance” thanks to the RIAA’s new certification policy.

Views is currently available on iTunes and Apple Music, exclusively.
