In the week between the pair of Coachella weekends, artists tend to leave the sandy oasis of Indio, CA for a few-day stint just two hours to the Northwest in Los Angeles. And so goes the case for Korea’s dominant force, Epik High.
We caught up with Tablo, DJ Tukutz and Mithra Jin somewhere deep in the Hollywood Hills as they escaped the desert for some downtime and preparation before Weekend 2 of their Coachella experience.
Among the topics discussed? How the guys got together, their background and influences pulled from hip-hop purity (i.e. Rakim) and fused-rock (i.e. Linkin Park) and the response they get when finally able to head back home after many long months on tour.
Check the in-depth chat below, and for additional laughs (the guys are really down to Earth and silly), put your eyes on the ‘Gram vid of their Korean language tutorial.
