J.R. Rotem Talks New Bay Area Artist Marteen Estevez

  /  04.04.2016

The Bay Area is known for producing a melting pot of multi-talented artists. Finding his sound and lust for life at a young age, 14-year-old singer/songwriter Marteen Estevez caught the music world’s attention all by way of his fifteen-second social media covers. Instantly expanding an on-line fan-base, with major record labels following in suit, Marteen has since went on to acquire countless Soundcloud plays and lean his talents on renown producer and music publisher J.R. Rotem.

“He’s definitely had a life of struggle, but he represents a lot of positivity and independence,” Rotem told REVOLT on latest protégé.

As for his Oakland influence and being closely tied to R&B songstress Kehlani, he explains, “When you come from the Bay Area there is a certain type of swag and there’s a certain kind of sound that comes with that.” Adding that Marteen’s debut will come within the year, as he’s set to tour with Kehlani after working on a few duet collaborations.

“It’s definitely R&B, but very future leading R&B.”
