Faith Evans Announces Posthumous Notorious B.I.G. Album & Possible Hologram Tour
“Something I’ve been thinking about for a long time.”
Faith Evans has just announced some “Juicy” news.
The Grammy Award winning singer revealed she is working on a duet album with her late-husband the Notorious B.I.G., which was formerly announced a year-and-a-half ago.
Titled The King & I, Evans she’s had a long time to perfect the direction in which she wanted to take the album and that it is now in the last mastering stages. “That’s something I’ve been thinking and talking about doing with Ms. Wallace for a long time,” she revealed in a recent interview on The Dame Dash Show earlier this week. “I’m kind of in the finishing stages.”
Promising fans that the album is an ode to Biggie’s legacy and that he would be proud of the project, she insists, “Today, if he was alive, I know, ultimately, we would’ve done something like this.” Adding, “the way the stuff is coming together and the way I’m using his vocals, it’s just giving stuff new life. It’s totally different. I think people are gonna like it.”
When asked how the set of records will be performed, Evans replied, “We actually are in development with a hologram, but I don’t necessarily know to what extent I’m gonna perform with it. But I want to debut it in the first video for the album, and maybe use it a little bit performing live. But that depends on a lot of things.”
This won’t be the Brooklyn MC’s first posthumous album, as Puff Daddy and Evans released “Born Again,” in 1999 along with “Duets: The Final Chapter,” which dropped in 2005.
The King & I is still pending a release date, but expected to debut this September.
