Los Angeles-based production trio Cheat Codes made a huge splash with their pop-inspired tropical house rework of Salt-N-Pepa’s 1991 classic “Sex” (released via Spinnin’ Records), garnering over 1 million plays on SoundCloud in less than a month.

Members Matthew Russell, Trevor Dahl and Kevin Ford were recently revealed as the track’s producers along with Dutch trifecta, Kriss Kross Amsterdam, after the record was introduced as an ID, but now that the cat’s out the bag it’s full-speed ahead for the budding musicians.

With other original tunes like “Hold On,” featuring Moguai, and Boehm collaboration “Visions,” the guys have taken some time out to ditch the studio gear for their guitars and tambourines for an acoustic rendition of their anthemic release “Say Goodbye.”
