Producer AraabMuzik cheated a brush with death last night (February 25) after he was shot twice in a Harlem parking lot.
Born Abraham Orellana, 26, the rapper is currently in stable condition at Harlem Hospital, where he underwent surgery due to gunshot wounds to his jaw and right arm. A bullet also reportedly grazed his head.
New York Daily News revealed the news, reporting that Orellana, along with a friend, James Malloy, were shot inside the ProPark America parking garage on W. 125th St. around 7 p.m. on Thursday. Sources say the producer and his pal had just left another friend’s home and went to the garage, where they hopped into a BMW. As they were heading to the exit, two men approached the vehicle and, as reported, one of the suspects convinced Orellana that he had dropped something. After the producer rolled down his window, several shots were fired.
Police said three .380 caliber shell casings were discovered at the scene.
No suspects have been arrested.
The incident is eerily similar to near death scare AraabMuzik experienced in May 2013 during an attempted robbery in his hometown of Providence, RI.
Update: Swizz Beatz posted an Instagram with AraabMuzik to confirm he’s OK.
