It’s not James Bond, but it’s close.

Michael B. Jordan will follow in Pierce Brosnan’s shoes and team with MGM for a remake of the 1999 hit, which itself was a remake of the 1968 original.

Brosnan (who also starred in a series of James Bond films; Jordan, next?) and Rene Russo starred in the ’90s edition of the heist and romance film, while Steve McQueen and Faye Funaway were the leads for the first movie.

As of press time, there’s no co-star or director attached to the new project.

The Hollywood Report first reported the news, however, no timetable is set for filming.

Jordan’s “Creed” partner, Ryan Coogler, has also lined up his next project, he’s slated to direct Marvel’s “Black Panther.”
