Coachella In Talks For Possible Fall Festival

  /  02.23.2016

Year after year, the Coachella Music Festival usually sells out in record time, leaving countless music-goers lost in last-minute ticket auctions. Well, if all goes as planned, a possible fall festival in Coachella could open more doors for the typical two-weekend format.

Back in 2013, Coachella producers Goldenvoice signed an agreement with Indio, California to keep the festival in the city through 2030. Also allowing Goldenvoice to stage up to five side-line events over the course of the year. Now, according to Indio Mayor Glenn Miller, the city has been working with the production company on a fall festival. Miller says he believes the new event is “imminent” and is seeing “significant progress.”

An additional festival is estimated to bring in over $1.4 million in revenue and also solidify the reputation as the “City of Festivals,” Mayor Miller explained.

The spring edition of Coachella is set to take place April 15-17 and 22-24, with headliners Guns N’ Roses and LCD Soundsystem leading the stacked performances.
