Netflix Animated Series To Feature Beatles Songs Covered By Sia, Pink, & Eddie Vedder

Netflix has announced they will premiere a new animated series this summer, and is set to include 50 of the Beatles’ classic songs. Beat Bugs was created by Josh Wakely, who will also direct, write and produce the series following a deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing to garner rights to feature some of the most well-known Beatles songs.

The children’s series will focus on five insect best friends who join forces to explore and learn about the suburban backyard life where they reside, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It will also incorporate songs from the Fab Four, with narrative cover tracks by Eddie Vedder, Sia, Chris Cornell, Pink, the Shins, James Corden with additional artists joining the project set to be announced.

“Personally I’m very grateful to be part of Josh’s vision,” Vedder said in a statement. “A tremendous show for kids that combines beautiful animation with great stories and obviously some of the best songs ever written.”

Beat Bugs will debut this August on Netflix.
