Meek Mill Sentenced To House Arrest: Report

  /  02.05.2016

Meek Mill will not receive jail time for a recent parole violation.

Meek, born Robert Williams, appeared before a Philadelphia judge today (February 5) to be sentenced for violating terms of his probation. Avoiding jail time, the rapper was ordered to 90 days in house arrest.

Back in December, Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley said the rapper violated terms of his parole after taking unapproved travels and failing to communicate with his probation officer. Prosecutors say the violations consisted of Meek traveling to New York for a benefit concert and appearing with his girlfriend Nicki Minaj at various events in different cities. Due to the violation, he was not allowed to travel outside the Philadelphia area prior to today’s hearing.

During the 90-days on house arrest, Meek is only allowed to leave home to do community service with groups serving adults, not young people. The rapper is also barred from releasing new music during that time period.

Meek’s sentencing begins on March 1st.
