Zoey Dollaz On How ‘Blow A Check’ Became A Bad Boy Remix At RMC

  /  02.04.2016

In October 2015, Miami’s own Zoey Dollaz stepped into the second annual REVOLT Music Conference with a buzz that spoke for itself.

His breakthrough mixtape, Who Don’t Like Dollaz, had been released two months prior. But by the time RMC rolled around, the buzz surrounding the project and its breakout hit, “Blow A Check,” was enough to place Dollaz on the same stage as Puff Daddy and French Montana at Club LIV that weekend.

“I had “Blow A Check” out [for] about two months prior to Puff hearing it during Revolt Music Conference weekend,” the Miami rapper told REVOLT about the game-changing career moment.

Not before long, the trio went from the stage at LIV to the recording studio, where they cranked out a remix to the very record that would close out Puff’s star-studded project, MMM, which arrived last November. “When he heard it, he was rocking with it and decided to do a Bad Boy edition.”

The video for the song’s Bad Boy remix arrived this week, showing the trio literally run through the money, while also further shining light on the rapper, who stole the show during that October night at Club LIV.

As “Blow A Check” gets bigger, Dollaz is already on to the next one. “My next project I’m putting out is called Success And Enemies,” he tells REVOLT. “We gon’ put it out in mid February and it’s gonna be featuring a second single called “Hate Real,” which is out right now and is going crazy in the streets.”

Check out Zoey’s recent talk with REVOLT below, and stay tuned for his next mixtape, Success And Enemies.
