Kanye West has been doing a lot of backtracking lately. Last week, he decided on dubbing Waves, his upcoming studio album, a “Gospel album.” Earlier this week, he apologized for insults lobbed at Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose. Now, the “Real Friends” rapper is offering new insight, this time on previous boasts he made about Waves.

As you might remember, Kanye took to Twitter last month and announced Waves, his approaching seventh studio album, as not just “the best album of all time,” but more specifically “album of the life.”

Well, last night (February 2), Mr. West decided to tone down the bold statement by calling the new album “ONE of the greatest albums.”

West cited his respect for music legends like Jimmy Hendrix, Marvin Gaye, and Michael Jackson as the reason for the new messaging.

Kanye’s Waves is due out February 11th.
