REVOLT’s Law Jackson is in Aspen, Colorado on the scene for X Games 2016, taking place January 28-31, where he’s interviewing artists and athletes about the ESPN extravaganza, music picks and much, much more.

X Games 2016: Day 1

Here’s his takeaways from Day 2.

Silja Is A Pop Lover

Silje Norendal is a Norwegian snowboarder who competes in halfpipe, slopestyle and boardercross. Norendal, who spent the last couple weeks recovering from an injury, admitted when she’s skating she enjoys the eclectic and classic pop tunes of the Spice Girls and Britney Spears to mellow her out during competitions. (She’s also bae, but that’s neither here nor there.)

The Twenty One Pilots Guys Are Hilarious

Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun, who together make up Twenty One Pilots, are fun-loving guys, who in their spare time love making up a stories about how they met with each new interview. They performed to close out the second day of the X Games last night (January 29) and admitted shamelessly to falling while trying to shred up Buttermilk Mountain. These guys are anything but “stressed out.”

America’s Navy Big Air Competition Never Disappoints

The b-roll in our recap footage below should do this enough justice alone, but seriously…the Big Air jump is nuts. Max Parrot ended up with a gold medal but major props to Yuki Kadono on snagging bronze even after breaking two boards.

Ben & Gabe Ferguson Are Chill AF

Gabe Ferguson, 16, and Ben Ferguson, 21, are boarding brothers who just genuinely love to ride. We caught up with them as flocks of girls came over to take pictures with them before and after the interview. Doing damage both on and off the slopes! You can checkout the Ferguson Bros. compete later during the half-pipe final.

Culture Shift

Danny Davis is really the leader of this cultural movement within pro snowboarding that is focused more on style and creativity versus big/multi-spin technicality. The Ferguson brothers have admitted to “following in Danny’s footsteps,” along with a slew of other riders. Tune in to X Games Aspen today to see just what I mean.
