REVOLT’s Lawrence Jackson is on the scene in Aspen.
REVOLT’s Law Jackson is in Aspen, Colorado on the scene for X Games 2016, taking place January 28-31,where he’s interviewing artists and athletes about the ESPN extravaganza, music picks and much, much more.
Here’s his takeaways from Day 1.
More Performers this Year
ESPN showed some extra love in 2016 and bumped the lineup up to six artists, including Nas, Run The Jewels, Kygo, 21 Pilots.
Nas Isn’t Much Of A Football Fan
Nas admitted that he does his best to keep his television consumption at a minimum, including sports, but when REVOLT caught up with him yesterday (January 28) we were surprised that he didn’t even know who was playing in the Super Bowl! To the rap god’s credit, though, as soon as he heard Cam was playing he respectfully hit his dab.
Killer Mike Will Not Be Performing At The Iowa Caucus
If you were looking forward to seeing Killer Mike perform for his homie Bernie Sander leading up to the caucus in Iowa then you will be disappointed to know he will not be there. Mike had a passing in his family and also made note that if he were to perform, it wouldn’t be solo but as Run The Jewels.
Danny Davis Admitted He Feels The Pressure
Usually artists brush off the pressure question and/or just straight up lie. But snowboard champ Danny Davis was refreshingly honest. He said he knows there is a bit of added pressure with him attempting to three-peat and win SuperPipe gold again this year.
El-P Officially Endorses Bernie Sanders
Run The Jewels are more than just partners in rhymes. During our interview with them, a wide-ranging conversation, El-P offered up that Mike isn’t the only one feeling the Bern.
