A$AP Mob Recall The A$AP Yams R&B Album That Never Happened
“We was gonna make an R&B album,” Ferg and Rocky tell REVOLT.
As thousands of New Yorkers braved frigid temperatures last week to attend the lively celebration that was Yams Day 2016, family and friends of the late A$AP Yams turned what would’ve otherwise been a somber anniversary into one sweet memory. Performing at NYC’s Terminal 5, the A$AP Mob honored their “spirit guide” with a rave that was spirit-filled to its brim.
Recapping the bash, A$AP Rocky, Ferg, and Nast caught up with REVOLT backstage to reminisce about their friend. “He was just a special human being,” A$AP Ferg shared, while Rocky summarized the night as a special way to “rejoice somebody that was very special to us.”
In addition to singing praise, the group also took a trip down memory lane to share an epic tale about the time they almost wrote an R&B album for Yams.
“Man, I was gonna put out Yams album, I was gonna write all his lyrics,” recalled Ferg, before Rocky joyfully interjected, “Remember that shit?!”
“We was gonna make an R&B album,” the former continued, while Rocky added, “[Ferg] was going to be the ghostwriter, but my son was on his Puerto Rican R. Kelly, Dominican Bobby Brown shit.”
An A$AP Yams R&B album? If only.
