Jamie Foxx Saves Man From Burning Car: "I'm Not a Hero"

  /  01.20.2016

On Monday Jamie Foxx heard a loud collision outside his home. As he hurried to check it out, he discovered a man trapped inside his Toyota Tacoma.

Bett Kyle, 32, hit a “drainage ditch,” according to ABC News, causing the vehicle to roll many times over and burst into flames.

Immediately, two witnesses near the scene—including Foxx—ran over to help.

“I’m not a hero,” he told ABC News “but had to do something. […] As I’m getting him out, I said, ‘You’ve got to help me get you out because I don’t want to have to leave you.’ I said, ‘You’ve angels around you.’”

Kyle was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and was later taken to the hospital to treat his injuries.

Last night (January 19) Foxx took to his Instagram account to post a photo hugging Kyle’s father.
