Rick Ross Signs Deal With Epic Records

  /  01.16.2016

It seems like it was almost yesterday when Rick Ross grabbed L.A. Reid for a surprise appearance on 2012’s “Maybach Music IV.” Fast forward to 2016 and the two once again join forces, only this time under the Epic Records umbrella.

As announced earlier today (January 15), Rick Ross has inked a deal with L.A. Reid’s Epic Records.

The big move comes after Ross’ nearly 10-year tenure with former label Def Jam officially came to an end last month, following the release of his eighth studio album, Black Market.

While talking to The Breakfast Club in December, the Bawse confirmed the end of his Def Jam contract and even hinted at negotiations with Epic. “It’s a lot of people coming to the table. It’s a lot of people bringing a lot of new excitement to the table. It is my last album [with] Def Jam Records,” he said. “I’ve been nothing but successful, they been a part of everything that I’ve created. They helped built this empire that I am a part of, and I respect and love them for that. Right now, you know where we at, ya dig? Most definitely, shout out to L.A. Reid, ya dig?”

As part of the Epic Records family, Rozay joins a star-studded roster that features Puff Daddy, Future, Travis Scott, Mariah Carey, and more.
