Fabolous, The Young OG Project 2
Fabolous never starves the streets from digesting a good mixtape. In fact, he might be the most consistent in the game at serving up street heat. Last year, he gave us The Young OG Project, his sixth studio album with eleven tracks, including “Lituation,” “She Wildin’” featuring Chris Brown and more. This year is no different for the Brooklyn MC as he collaborated with the likes of Jeremih, Troy Ave and Jadakiss before dropping his own mixtape, Summertime Shootouts, in time for Thanksgiving. This Christmas King Loso is still in the giving spirit and will be dropping The Young OG Project 2. Update: In case you ain’t know so, Loso pushed back his project until February.
Chief Keef, Back From The Dead 3
Chief Keef is back from the dead again like Lazarus and he has risen with Sonny Digital, 808 Mafia and a few more producers in two to drop his much- anticipated tape, Back From The Dead 3. Sosa offered some tracks as a preview of what’s to come, including “Change,” “Tweaker” and “BIH.”
Tory Lanez, New Toronto/Chixtape 3
Earlier this year Tory Lanez discussed his confidence in finding his own lane with his new undeniable style and forthcoming music. Thanks to his Fargo Friday series, Tory has been dropping more heat to substantiate his claims. Only time will tell if the twenty-three-year-old singer, who plans to release two mixtapes on Christmas day, can follow through on his boasts. Listen to The New Toronto, here. You can also check out Chixtape 3, here.
Young Thug/Migos, MigoThuggin
Young Thug has been lighting it up in every direction for some time now, from his unorthodox music style to his social life and fashion. This year he’s been churning out mixtapes left and right with Slime Season and Slime Season 2. Thugger also released his debut studio album Barter 6 in 2015. The Migos gang has also had quite a year themselves, with a few legal problems, which landed the trio in the slammer. Quavo and Takeoff were soon exonerated, while Offset’s case took longer to shake before he was eventually released. Now, they’ve all joined forces for the anticipated collaboration mixtape MigoThuggin. Already, Migos, Thug and Flippa debuted a new track, which you can check out, here.
Timbaland, King Stays King
Earlier this month Timbo announced one of his many anticipated projects, King Stays King. This collection won’t disappoint, as on paper Timbaland is set to collaborate with an all-star cast of artists, including Young Thug, Migos, Yo Gotti, Tink and many more. The mixtape is even set to have an unreleased track by baby girl Aaliyah. Fresh off the Empire scene to working on Pusha T’s new release, Timbaland is showing no signs of slowing down. You can listen to it, here.
Even more holiday treats than expected arrived throughout the weekend, including Kodak Black’s Institution, Gucci Mane’s East Atlanta Santa 2 and Fat Trel’s Muva Russia.
