It’s no secret that Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson has an appreciation for A Tribe Called Quest.

The Roots drummer recently penned an essay about the Queens group for Billboard and, of course, Q-Tip, Phife Dawg, Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Jarobi White performed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon earlier this month where the Philadelphia musician had a VIP seat to his music heroes.

“I know a lot of people were skeptical, What are The Roots gonna do now that they’re not touring,” Quest told REVOLT. “Nah, [this gig], actually enhanced us. I’m charged, I’m inspired.”

He went on to explain his ever evolving bucket list, from backing Sting to Bruce Springsteen and now Tribe, a personal favorite, which may not be topped.

“The engergy was there,” he said. “It gets no better than this.

“They’re my Beatles,” he added.
